I started playing guitar when I was ten years old, I was the biggest Kiss freak in the world. I just had to get a guitar so I could be Ace! I started playing bass soon after, because I didnt want my brother Kevin to be a 'Rock Star' without me!!!! Geddy Lee and Chris Squire were now my new Heroes!
In 1989 I moved from Tucson to Los Angeles. The whole 'L.A.' scene was just kinda dying out! I managed to hook up with Yngwie Malmsteen in 1994 and tour for his album 'The Seventh Sign'. The following year I played bass on his album 'Magnum Opus' and toured for that as well. Those were great times for me! I was finally doing what I always wanted to do! Riding on a tour bus and playing Rock and Roll.
In the beginning of 1996, I joined The Michael Schenker Group. When I was a kid, Michael was my favorite guitarist. I can remember trying not to look too 'excited' at those first few rehearsals!! I didnt suceed! I had a goofy grin on my face the whole time! We recorded a great underrated album called 'Written In The Sand' I am really proud of that album! We also had some great tours together, and it shows on the two live albums we did.
Around 1998 I started playing with pop singer Billie Myers, she had a big hit called 'Kiss The Rain' We did lots of TV and radio station appearances and played shows all over the world, including some very memorable shows supporting Bob Dylan in europe.
From 1999 til 2001, I was back with The Michael Schenker Group or the occasional album or tour with ex-Scorpions guitarist Uli Jon Roth. It was also good to be back playing with my longtime rhythm brother Shane Gaalaas.
In 2001 I joined Dokken, which is an awesome band to play with! We have had some great shows together! Touring with Whitesnake and The Scorpions was a definite highlight!
I have recently been on tour with Ted Nugent!! The Motor City Madman!!! Ted is so much fun to play with! You rule Ted! And then I went on the road with The B'z in America and Japan, and also recorded some tracks for the latest Scorpions cd.
Since then, I've been back on the road with Dokken, brought out my second solo cd - Can't Look Back - and have stood in for my hero Pete Way on UFO's American tourdates, as Pete was sadly unable to get his visa in time for the tour.
It's amazing to make a living playing Rock N Roll! I feel very fortunate to be able to make albums and tour all over the world with some of my favorite musicians, like Ted Nugent, Dokken, The Michael Schenker Group, Yngwie Malmsteen and Uli Jon Roth.
And I hope to keep rockin for a long time! Thanks for stopping by!
